never underestimate the power of free....

being a naturally thrifty person, i have noticed that all of my lesson so far can be done with little to no materials. it's not that i don't have things to work with, i guess that just how i function. supplies used so far for pre-k-5th:

  • brown paper bags (free from parent donations)
  • tissue paper (free from donations)
  • construction paper
  • card stock (donated, so free!)
  • watercolors
  • tempura paint
  • pastels
  • colored pencil
just me being happy about the kind of super cheap projects i can make. any ideas?

  1. ....how about puppets from recycled materials. You can focus the lesson on Pablo Cano. Then you can grade the students based on how well their puppets hold up. When they are well put together, you can then give them all F's.

    ROFL. Just kidding!

The sour cream containers would be good molds for making paper mache pots! You could even get little seeds after they were finished making them and let them plant a flower in their pot....do some kind of Eco/Green day or something.

Toilet paper rolls could be good miniature rain sticks...you could stick toothpicks through them and put beans inside, close up the ends and decorate the outsides.

I'm imagining the egg cartons spray painted gold and turned into Egyptian sarcophagi.
